Board of Directors 

Robert Hulshouser, President, is a partner in Urban Environmental Research, LLC, a regional consulting firm.  He is the nephew of Edith & Dick Haines, major benefactors of OLLP. He has served in executive security positions within the utility industry, and as President of three Rotary clubs. Robert is a retired Lieutenant Colonel (USAR) He lives in Las Vegas, NV.

Mary McClain, Vice President, was a community activist, city alderman and county supervisor. She managed a Keep America Beautiful affiliate and served as a city and county recycling director. In addition she owned and operated a successful retail/wholesale business for a number of years. She lives in Columbus, NM

 

Louis Luna is a licensed social worker and translates documents for the Deming School District. He interprets during IEP’s, trainings, workshops, etc.  He does Spanish transcriptions and simultaneous interpretation for UTEP. He is a Community Action Agency Board Member and Co-Chair of the Con Alma Health Foundation.  He lives in Deming, NM.

 

Tom Hester has degrees in history, sociology and American civilization. He is retired from the USDOJ. He teaches a weekly ESL class for Literacy Link Leamos and does volunteer research for the Silver City Museum, and volunteers for the release after-school program.  He lives in Silver City, NM.

 

The Rt. Rev. Win Mott is currently Bishop of the Diocese of the West and Vicar-General for the Diocese of the Southwest in the Anglican Church of North America.  He writes the “Desert Sage” column for the Deming “Headlight.” He lives in Columbus, NM.

 

The Rev. Deacon Kris Lethin, Treasurer, & The Rev. Judith Lethin are ordained clergy from the Episcopal diocese of Alaska.  They co-founded Our Lady of Las Palomas in 2000 with other Alaskans.  Kris is a retired businessman and an avid pilot.  Judith is a priest and board certified chaplain, and a writer.   They live in Seldovia, Alaska

 

The Rev. Deacon Tom Bates Serves at The Good Shepard Episcopal Church in Silver City, NM. He is the Brotherhood of St. Andrew Coordinator for the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande, a board member of an orphanage in Palomas and a board member of Alas de Amor, an outreach Christian ministry in Palomas. A retired Army Colonel and a former city manager, he lives in Silver City, New Mexico.

 

Barbara Becker Agte is a retired college English teacher, special education social worker and costume constructionist and designer, community activist and involved in many plays and theatre activities. Her publications include KENT LETTERS: STUDENT RESPONSES TO MAY 1970 MASSACRE as well short stories and articles published in DESERT EXPOSURE and other local publications. She has lived in Columbus, NM since 1989.
